Tapioca Balls
Ingredients
- 1 cup Tapioca
- ¼ cup Plain yogurt
- ⅓ cup Water
- 1 cup Mashed Potatoes (2 medium potatoes)
- ¼ cup Rice flour
- 3 Green chillies (finely chopped or to taste )
- 1 tsp Ginger (crushed)
- ¼ cup Green coriander (finely chopped)
- ¼ cup Onions (finely chopped)
- ¼ cup Peanuts (roasted, crushed)
- ¾ tsp Salt (or to taste)
- 1 tsp Cumin seeds
- 1 tsp Sesame seeds
- 6 Dry curry leaves (crushed)
- 1 tsp Lemon juice
- Oil (for frying)
Instructions
- In a frying pan roast tapioca on medium heat until crisp.
- Let cool then grind to a fine flour.
- Empty into a deep bowl. Add yogurt and water, mix. Cover and let rest for 10 minutes.
- Combine the remaining ingredients with tapioca dough and make round balls to desired size.
- Deep-fry on medium heat until golden in color.
- Remove and drain on a paper towel.
- You can also cook the balls in a covered greased Appe pan, gently turning them half way through to evenly brown.
