Ingredients
  • 1 cup Tapioca
  • ¼ cup Plain yogurt
  • ⅓ cup Water
  • 1 cup Mashed Potatoes (2 medium potatoes)
  • ¼ cup Rice flour
  • 3 Green chillies (finely chopped or to taste )
  • 1 tsp Ginger (crushed)
  • ¼ cup Green coriander (finely chopped)
  • ¼ cup Onions (finely chopped)
  • ¼ cup Peanuts (roasted, crushed)
  • ¾ tsp Salt (or to taste)
  • 1 tsp Cumin seeds
  • 1 tsp Sesame seeds
  • 6 Dry curry leaves (crushed)
  • 1 tsp Lemon juice
  • Oil (for frying)
Instructions
  1. In a frying pan roast tapioca on medium heat until crisp.
  2. Let cool then grind to a fine flour.
  3. Empty into a deep bowl. Add yogurt and water, mix. Cover and let rest for 10 minutes.
  4. Combine the remaining ingredients with tapioca dough and make round balls to desired size.
  5. Deep-fry on medium heat until golden in color.
  6. Remove and drain on a paper towel.
  7. You can also cook the balls in a covered greased Appe pan, gently turning them half way through to evenly brown.
