Ingredients
  • 1 cup Gram flour
  • 1 tbsp Rice flour
  • ¾ tsp Salt (or to taste)
  • ½ tsp Sugar
  • ½ tsp Red chili powder (or to taste)
  • ¼ tsp Ground black pepper
  • ½ tsp Ground coriander/cumin mix
  • ¼ tsp Turmeric
  • ¼ tsp Asafoetida (hing)
Instructions
  1. Combine the flours. Gradually add cold water to make a smooth, lump free, medium consistency batter.
  2. Add the spices and mix well.
  3. Note: batter is used to make a variety of pakoras.
  4. Just before making pakoras, mix ¼ tsp of baking soda (optional).
