Ingredients
  • 2 cups Cabbage (shredded)
  • 1½ tsp Ground coriander/cumin mix
  • ½ tsp Red chili powder
  • ½ tsp Salt (or to taste)
  • ½ tsp Green chilies or to taste (crushed)
  • ½ tsp Ginger (crushed)
  • ½ tsp Garlic (crushed)
  • ¼ tsp Sugar
Instructions
  1. Shred the cabbage and soak in salted water for 10 minutes.
  2. Squeeze the water out of the cabbage.
  3. In a saucepan, heat oil on medium high for tempering.
  4. Add the mustard and cumin seeds.
  5. When crackled, add turmeric, hing then cabbage.
  6. Stir and add the seasonings, mix well.
Tempering
Ingredients
  • 2 tbsps Oil
  • ½ tsp Mustard seeds
  • ½ tsp Cmin seeds
  • ¼ tsp Turmeric
  • ⅛ tsp Asafoetida (hing)
Variations
Ingredients
  • ½ cup Green bell peppers (sliced)
  • ½ cup Peas (boiled)
  • ½ cup Potatoes (thinly sliced)
  • ¼ cup Carrots (grated)
Instructions
  1. Add any of these vegetables to the cabbage.
  2. Adjust the seasoning to taste.
