Onion Ravaiya
Ingredients
- 15 White pickling onions (peeled, washed and cut in half)
- ½ cup Red potato (1 medium potato, washed and cubed)
- 2 tbsps Oil
- ½ tsp Cumin seeds
Stuffing
Ingredients
- ¼ cup Raw peanuts (coarsely ground)
- ½ cup Green coriander (finely chopped)
- 3 tsps Ground coriander/cumin mix
- ¾ tsp Salt (or to taste)
- ½ tsp Red chili powder (or to taste)
- ¼ tsp Turmeric
- ¼ tsp Ground cinnamon
- 1½ tsp Sugar
- 1 tsp Garlic (crushed)
- ½ tsp Ginger (crushed)
- ⅛ tsp Asafoetida (hing)
- 2 tbsps Oil
Instructions
- Mix the stuffing ingredients together in a dish.
- In a saucepan place oil and cumin seeds, add the vegetables and stuffing.
- Mix thoroughly then add a cup of water.
- Cover and cook on low-medium heat until done.
- Add more water if more gravy is required. Adjust the seasonings.
- There should be a generous amount of thick gravy.
- Can pressure cook for 2 whistles.
