Ingredients
  • 2 cups Tuvar (boiled)
  • ½ cup Tomatoes (chopped)
  • 1 tsp Ground coriander/cumin mix
  • ½ tsp Red chili powder (or to taste)
  • ¾ tsp Salt (or to taste)
  • ½ tsp Sugar
  • ½ tsp Ginger (crushed)
  • ½ tsp Garlic (crushed)
  • Green coriander (finely chopped for garnish)
Instructions
  1. In a saucepan, heat oil on medium high for tempering.
  2. Add mustard seeds, when crackled add turmeric and hing.
  3. Add tuvar and tomatoes, stir and add the seasonings and ¼ cup of water.
  4. Cover and cook on low heat for about 10 minutes or until the tomatoes are soft.
  5. Add water if needed for a little gravy.
  6. Garnish with green coriander.
  7. Note : ¼ C chopped onion can be added along with the tomatoes.

  • 2 tbsps Oil
  • 1 tsp Mustard seeds
  • ¼ tsp Turmeric
  • ⅛ tsp Asafoetida (hing)
