Tuvar
Ingredients
- 2 cups Tuvar (boiled)
- ½ cup Tomatoes (chopped)
- 1 tsp Ground coriander/cumin mix
- ½ tsp Red chili powder (or to taste)
- ¾ tsp Salt (or to taste)
- ½ tsp Sugar
- ½ tsp Ginger (crushed)
- ½ tsp Garlic (crushed)
- Green coriander (finely chopped for garnish)
Instructions
- In a saucepan, heat oil on medium high for tempering.
- Add mustard seeds, when crackled add turmeric and hing.
- Add tuvar and tomatoes, stir and add the seasonings and ¼ cup of water.
- Cover and cook on low heat for about 10 minutes or until the tomatoes are soft.
- Add water if needed for a little gravy.
- Garnish with green coriander.
- Note : ¼ C chopped onion can be added along with the tomatoes.

- 2 tbsps Oil
- 1 tsp Mustard seeds
- ¼ tsp Turmeric
- ⅛ tsp Asafoetida (hing)
