Potato Fries Shaak
Ingredients
- 2 medium Potatoes (peeled and sliced like fries, medium thick)
- 2 tbsps Oil
- 3 tbsps Raw cashews (broken)
- ½ tsp Cumin seeds
- 1 tsp Sesame seeds
- ½ tsp Turmeric
- 1 tsp Red chili powder (or to taste)
- 8 Curry leaves
- ½ tsp Salt (or to taste)
- ½ tsp Sugar
- ¼ tsp Garlic powder (optional)
- 1 tsp Lemon juice
- Green onions (finely chopped, for garnish)
- Oil (for frying)
Instructions
- Soak potatoes in cold water for ½ hour.
- Drain and pat dry with a towel, deep-fry untill crispy and light brown.
- Drain on a paper towel.
- Heat oil on medium in a frypan, add cashews.
- Sauté until the color begins to change.
- Add sesame seeds, cumin seeds, turmeric, chili powder and curry leaves.
- Stir for a minute then add the fried potatoes, salt, sugar, garlic powder and lemon juice.
- Toss and mix well.
- Cook for a couple of minutes until heated through.
- Sprinkle green onions.
