Lilo Chevdo
Ingredients
- 5 lbs Potatoes
- 1 cup Raw peanuts
- ½ cup Raw Cashews
- 2 cups Chana dal (fried)
- 1½ tsp Sesame seeds
- ½ tsp Khus-khus
- 3 Green chilies (sliced into thin circles)
- 15 Curry leaves
- 1 tsp Salt (or to taste)
- ½ tsp Turmeric
- Oil (for frying)
Instructions
- Peel and grate potatoes like matchsticks, wash and pat dry.
- Fry on low to medium heat until crisp and golden.
- Fry peanuts, cashews, chilies and curry leaves.
- Mix with chips.
- Add chana dal, sesame seeds, khu-khus, salt and turmeric, mix.
Sugar Syrup
Ingredients
- 1 cup Water
- ¾ cup Sugar
- ⅓ cup Lemon juice
Instructions
- Combine sugar and water, boil on low heat until it begins to thicken (about 15 minutes).
- Add lemon juice, stir and remove from heat.
- Let cool to lukewarm then pour onto the chips mixture and coat thoroughly.
- Store in an airtight container for up to 2 weeks.
