Stick Gathiya with Potatoes
Ingredients
- 3 Medium potatoes (boiled, peeled & mashed)
- 2½ cups Besan
- 2 tbsps Oil
- ¼ tsp Citric acid (or 1 tsp lemon juice)
- 1 tsp Sugar
- 1¾ tsp Salt
- 1 tsp Red chili powder
- 1 tsp Coarse ground black pepper
- ½ tsp Ajmo
- ¼ tsp Turmeric
- Oil (for frying)
Instructions
- In a bowl, mix oil in besan.
- Add remaining ingredients and make a soft dough using cold water, only if needed.
- Knead until the dough is smooth.
- Spray oil in the sev sancha machine.
- With the gathiya disc installed, fill the dough and close the lid.
- Heat oil on medium high heat.
- Hold the machine over the hot oil and make gathiya.
- Fry until golden.
- Carefully turn over and continue frying.
- Remove and drain on a paper towel.
- Continue until all dough is finished.
