Ingredients
  • ½ cup Bulgur wheat (washed)
  • ¼ cup Ghee
  • ½ cup Sugar (or to taste)
  • 2 sticks Cinnamon sticks (1" each)
  • 5 Cloves
  • 2 cups Water (boiled)
Instructions
  1. Melt ghee in a pressure cooker on medium heat.
  2. When melted, add cinnamon, cloves and lapsi. Roast, stirring continuously until golden brown and aromatic.
  3. Carefully add hot water and stir.
  4. Cover and pressure cook for 5 whistles. Let cool then open.
  5. Lapsi should be soft and cooked like rice, if not, add a little more hot water cover and simmer until done.
  6. Add sugar and stir, add the garnish ingredients. Continuously stir until thickened and ghee begins to separate.
  7. NOTE: can cook in a regular saucepan on low heat until all the water is absorbed and the lapsi is soft then follow the same instructions.
