Ingredients
  • 4 cups Whole milk
  • 2 tbsps Uncooked long grain rice (washed)
  • ⅓ cup Sugar (to taste)
  • ½ tsp Ground cardamom
  • Saffron (a few strands)
  • 6 Almonds
  • 8 Raw pistachios
Instructions
  1. Soak almonds and pistachios in lukewarm water for 30 minutes, remove skin and slice thin, set aside.
  2. Soak saffron in 1 tbsp of warm milk.
  3. In a nonstick saucepan, bring 4 cups of milk to a boil. Add rice and simmer on low heat, stirring often until the rice is cooked and the milk is slightly thickened.
  4. Add sugar, cardamom and saffron.
  5. Stir and simmer until the sugar is dissolved and milk is thickened, add the garnish, stir and remove from heat.
  6. Serve warm or chilled.
