Doodh Pak
Ingredients
- 4 cups Whole milk
- 2 tbsps Uncooked long grain rice (washed)
- ⅓ cup Sugar (to taste)
- ½ tsp Ground cardamom
- Saffron (a few strands)
- 6 Almonds
- 8 Raw pistachios
Instructions
- Soak almonds and pistachios in lukewarm water for 30 minutes, remove skin and slice thin, set aside.
- Soak saffron in 1 tbsp of warm milk.
- In a nonstick saucepan, bring 4 cups of milk to a boil. Add rice and simmer on low heat, stirring often until the rice is cooked and the milk is slightly thickened.
- Add sugar, cardamom and saffron.
- Stir and simmer until the sugar is dissolved and milk is thickened, add the garnish, stir and remove from heat.
- Serve warm or chilled.
