Ingredients
  • 2 cups Whole milk
  • 1 tbsp Custard powder
  • ¼ cup Sugar
  • 1 tsp Vanilla essence (optional)
  • ¼ tsp Ground cardamom
  • Saffron (a few strands)
  • Fruit (finely chopped - not sour)
  • Ice cream (optional)
  • Cashews (raw - chopped )
  • Pistachios (raw - chopped)
  • Almonds (chopped - optional)
Instructions
  1. Dissolve custard powder in little warm milk.
  2. Dissolve saffron in little warm milk
  3. In a heavy bottom saucepan, bring milk to a boil. Reduce heat to low, stirring continuously,
  4. Add sugar and custard, simmer until thickened slightly.
  5. Add cardamom, saffron and essence. Whisk until thickened to a desired consistency, remove from heat and let cool.
  6. Add fruit and refrigerate.
  7. Sprinkle nuts on individual servings, can also top with ice cream.
