Ingredients
  • 1 cup Self rising flour (1 C all purpose flour + 2 tsp baking powder)
  • 1 tsp Baking powder
  • ½ cup Butter
  • ½ cup Sugar
  • 2 Eggs (room temperature)
  • 1 tsp Vanilla essence
  • 2 tbsps Cold water
  • 9 inches Greased round cake pan
Instructions
  1. Preheat oven to 375°F.
  2. Sift baking powder into flour, set aside.
  3. In a bowl beat together the butter, sugar and eggs until light and fluffy.
  4. Add vanilla and mix.
  5. Gradually add the flour and continue beating.
  6. Add water and mix until creamy.
  7. Pour into the prepared cake pan and bake for 30-35 minutes.
  8. Cool in the pan for 15 minutes then turn it out upside down onto a rack to finish cooling.
