Ingredients
  • 2 tsps Oil
  • ¾ cup Onion (finely chopped)
  • ½ cup Rice (washed)
  • 1¼ cup Water (hot)
  • ¾ tsp Salt
  • ⅛ tsp Ground cloves
Instructions
  1. Heat oil in a saucepan, on medium heat. Sauté onions until dark browned (not burnt),
  2. Add rice, stir then add water, salt and cloves, stir.
  3. Bring to a boil then turn heat to low, cover and simmer until the water is absorbed and the rice is cooked.
  4. The rice will look light brown due to the caramelized onions.
