Brown Rice
Ingredients
- 2 tsps Oil
- ¾ cup Onion (finely chopped)
- ½ cup Rice (washed)
- 1¼ cup Water (hot)
- ¾ tsp Salt
- ⅛ tsp Ground cloves
Instructions
- Heat oil in a saucepan, on medium heat. Sauté onions until dark browned (not burnt),
- Add rice, stir then add water, salt and cloves, stir.
- Bring to a boil then turn heat to low, cover and simmer until the water is absorbed and the rice is cooked.
- The rice will look light brown due to the caramelized onions.
