Tomato Soup
Ingredients
- 1 lb Tomatoes (washed and chopped)
- ¼ cup Onion (chopped)
- ¼ cup Green corainder (chopped)
- ½ tsp Green chilies (crushed/to taste)
- ¾ tsp Garlic (crushed)
- 1 tsp Salt (or to taste)
- ¾ tsp Ground cumin
- ⅛ tsp Ground cloves
- ⅛ tsp Turmeric
- 2 tbsps Ketchup
Instructions
- Combine tomatoes, onions, coriander, chilies and garlic in a food processor and crush as smooth as possible, do not add water.
Tempering
Ingredients
- 1 tbsp Oil
- ½ tsp Mustard seeds
- ⅛ tsp Asafoetida (hing)
Instructions
- In a saucepan do the tempering, on low-medium heat.
- Add the tomatoes, stir and bring to a boil then reduce heat to low.
- Add the remaining ingredients, cover and simmer until the tomatoes are cooked and oil begins to separate.
- Add water for desired consistency.
- Serve with french bread.
