Ingredients
  • 2 cups roti (wheat flour)
  • 10 tbsps ghee (melted - separated)
  • ¾ cup Gor (or to taste)
Instructions
  1. In a large bowl, mix flour and 4 tbsp ghee. Add warm water gradually to make a semi soft dough.
  2. Cover and set aside for 15 minutes
  3. Make 6 equal size balls from the dough and roll ⅛ inch thick circles.
  4. Cook on low heat on a griddle, flipping a couple of times until done.
  5. When cool enough to handle, crumble into tiny granules by hand or in a food processor.
  6. In a saucepan, melt the remaining ghee, on low heat, add gor. Melt, stirring continuously, it will look frothy,
  7. Add the bhakri crumbs and stir to mix thoroughly, remove from heat.
  8. Let cool slightly, make balls to desired size.
  9. NOTE: use a piece of plastic wrap, place about ¼ cup of mixture and twist tight and press to make a ball.
  10. Optional: mix some roasted ground unsalted peanuts or a teaspoon of ground cardamom in the crumbs.
