Lilva or Chhip Rice
Ingredients
- 1 cup Rice
- 1½ tbsp Ghee
- 2 Cloves
- 2 Cinnamon sticks (1 inch)
- 1 tsp Salt
- 1 cup Green lilva or chhip
- 3 cups Water
Paste
Ingredients
- ½ cup Green coriander
- 1 tsp Ginger (crushed)
- 1 tsp Garlic (crushed)
- 1 tsp Chillies (crushed)
- 2 tsps Lemon juice
Instructions
- In a blender, add the paste ingredients and blend smooth.
- In a saucepan,melt ghee on medium heat.
- Add cinnamon, cloves and rice and sauté for one minute. Add lilva, salt, paste and water, stir.
- When it begins to boil, adjust heat to low.
- Cover and cook until the rice is cooked and all the water is absorbed.
- Stir a couple of times during cooking.
