Ingredients
  • ½ cup Tuvar dal (washed)
  • ¼ tsp Salt
  • ⅛ tsp Turmeric
  • ⅛ tsp Asafoetida (hing)
  • 1 cup Water
Instructions
  1. In a saucepan, bring water to a boil.
  2. Add dal, salt and turmeric, stir and lower heat.
  3. Cover and simmer until cooked and the water is absorbed.
  4. Add more water if needed, dar should be thick pouring consistency.
  5. Add asafoetida, mix then remove from heat.
  6. Note: can pressure cook for 4 whistles, let cool before opening.
