Ingredients
  • 2 cups All purpose flour
  • ¼ tsp Salt
  • 1½ tbsp Olive oil
  • 1½ tsp Dried yeast
  • 1 tsp Sugar
Instructions
  1. Makes one 12 inch base.
  2. In ½ cup lukewarm water, soak sugar and yeast for about 10 minutes or until frothy.
  3. Combine oil with flour, add salt, then yeast mixture and bind to a soft dough.
  4. Use more warm water if needed.
  5. Knead on a floured surface for 5 minutes.
  6. Place the dough in a greased bowl, cover with a damp cloth and a plate.
  7. Let rise in a warm place for at least 2 hours or until doubled in size.
  8. Knead dough on a floured surface and roll into a 12 inch circle.
  9. Place on a greased pizza tray, prick with a fork.
Variation
Ingredients
  • 1 cup Self rising flour
  • 1 cup Bisquick
  • 2 tbsps Olive oil
  • 1 tsp Dried yeast
  • ½ tsp Salt
  • ½ tsp Ajmo
  • ½ tsp Crushed red pepper
  • ¼ tsp Oregano
  • ¼ tsp Basil
  • ¼ tsp Garlic powder
  • ¼ tsp Ground black pepper
Instructions
  1. Mix all the ingredients and make a soft dough using water.
  2. Cover and let rise in a greased bowl for 1 hour.
  3. Roll dough on a floured surface into a 12 inch circle.
  4. Place on a greased pizza tray, prick with a fork.
Variation: Stuffed Crust
  1. Roll pizza crust to 14 inches.
  2. Place mozzarella cheese sticks (sliced in half, lengthwise) or grated mozzarella cheese, around the edge of the pizza base.
  3. Fold over and seal by crimping.
