Pizza Base / Stuffed Crust

Ingredients
- 2 cups All purpose flour
- ¼ tsp Salt
- 1½ tbsp Olive oil
- 1½ tsp Dried yeast
- 1 tsp Sugar
Instructions
- Makes one 12 inch base.
- In ½ cup lukewarm water, soak sugar and yeast for about 10 minutes or until frothy.
- Combine oil with flour, add salt, then yeast mixture and bind to a soft dough.
- Use more warm water if needed.
- Knead on a floured surface for 5 minutes.
- Place the dough in a greased bowl, cover with a damp cloth and a plate.
- Let rise in a warm place for at least 2 hours or until doubled in size.
- Knead dough on a floured surface and roll into a 12 inch circle.
- Place on a greased pizza tray, prick with a fork.
Variation
Ingredients
- 1 cup Self rising flour
- 1 cup Bisquick
- 2 tbsps Olive oil
- 1 tsp Dried yeast
- ½ tsp Salt
- ½ tsp Ajmo
- ½ tsp Crushed red pepper
- ¼ tsp Oregano
- ¼ tsp Basil
- ¼ tsp Garlic powder
- ¼ tsp Ground black pepper
Instructions
- Mix all the ingredients and make a soft dough using water.
- Cover and let rise in a greased bowl for 1 hour.
- Roll dough on a floured surface into a 12 inch circle.
- Place on a greased pizza tray, prick with a fork.
Variation: Stuffed Crust
- Roll pizza crust to 14 inches.
- Place mozzarella cheese sticks (sliced in half, lengthwise) or grated mozzarella cheese, around the edge of the pizza base.
- Fold over and seal by crimping.
