Tempura
Ingredients
- 1 cup All purpose flour
- ⅓ cup Corn starch
- 1 tsp Salt (or to taste)
- ½ tsp Ground black pepper
- ⅛ tsp Ground white pepper
- ½ tsp Ginger (crushed)
- ½ tsp Garlic (crushed)
- ¼ tsp Ajinomoto
- ¼ tsp Baking powder
- Ice cold water (as needed or club soda)
- 4 cups Vegetables (green beans, baby corn, eggplant, cauliflower, asparagus, broccoli, zucchini, spinach, etc..)
- Oil (for frying)
Instructions
- Wash and evenly slice or cut the vegetables of your choice and pat dry. Set aside.
- Combine flour, cornstarch and baking powder.
- Mix the remaining ingredients to make a smooth thick batter.
- Heat oil on medium high.
- Dip vegetables in the batter, coat completely and deep fry until light golden.
- Remove onto a paper towel.
- Let cool slightly then re-fry for crispiness.
- Drain on a paper towel and serve.
