Roasted Variali/Flaxseeds
Ingredients
- 1 cup Raw variali (or flaxseeds)
- ¾ tsp Salt
- ⅛ tsp Turmeric
- ½ tsp Lemon juice
- 2 tbsps Water
Instructions
- In a small bowl combine salt, turmeric and lemon juice with water and let salt dissolve.
- Place variali in a separate bowl and pour prepared water mixture over variali.
- Mix thoroughly to wet every seed and set aside for 15 minutes.
- In a microwave safe plate spread the variali, microwave on high for 5-7 minutes or until dry and crisp, stirring after each minute.
Variation - Roast Options
- Option 1: On low heat, roast variali or flaxseeds in a frying pan on the stove.
- Roast until dry and crisp, stirring continuously.
- Option 2: Roast variali or flaxseeds in oven on very low heat until dry and crisp.
