Ingredients
  • 2 cups Whole milk (can use 1C milk and 1C half and half)
  • 2 tbsps Custard powder
  • ¼ cup Sugar (or to taste)
  • ½ tsp Vanilla essence (optional)
  • ¼ tsp Ground cardamom (optional)
  • Saffron (a few strands)
  • Fruit (finely chopped - not sour)
  • Raw cashews (chopped - optional )
  • Raw pistachios (chopped - optional)
  • Raw almonds (chopped - optional)
  • Walnuts (chopped - optional)
Instructions
  1. Dissolve custard powder in little warm milk.
  2. Dissolve saffron in little warm milk
  3. In a heavy bottom saucepan, bring milk to a boil. Reduce heat to low, stirring continuously,
  4. Add sugar and custard, simmer until thickened slightly.
  5. Add cardamom, saffron and essence. Whisk until thickened to a desired consistency, remove from heat and let cool completely.
  6. Add fruit and refrigerate.
  7. Sprinkle nuts on individual servings.
